Scholarship Fund Details for 2010
Each year the SAME Orange County Post awards engineering students from area universities with Post Scholarships. Our Scholarship Program keeps growing each year, and, for 2010, we are proud to be able to award as many as four deserving students each with a $2,000 Scholarship.
Scholarship applications are distributed in May, due in July and reviewed in late August. Awards are made at our October Post lunch meeting. Scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible:
- Student of good character.
- A full-time undergraduate student at an accredited university in Orange County, currently in their sophomore or junior year.
- Pursuing a major in engineering.
- Applicants should complete the form and attach a narrative specifically addressing the following topics in the order listed:
- Academic performance (GPA, advanced or graduate courses, awards or other recognition)
- Financial need (ability to pay for college; other financial assistance to be received)
- Current and past involvement in professional organizations
- Work experience
- Willingness to attend our October lunch meeting and briefly address our group
- Community Involvement
- Other campus activities (athletics, clubs, etc.)
- Any other relevant information
